Isla’s First Birthday

in family, holiday, kids  •  September 22, 2019

I’m not crying….jk, I’m totally crying. Time always flies with littles but this past year seriously feels like it went by in a flash. I feel like it was only a few months ago that we brought Isla home from the hospital. She won our hearts over immediately and has made this year so much fun. God certainly knows what he’s doing because she is a perfect match for our family in every way.

To celebrate her first year, we had a “Wild One” party with more of an enchanted woodland theme. Although not all of my visions came to life (the woodland balloon animals and birch tree decorations didn’t happen- I’m good but I’m not a miracle worker!), this party was one of my all-time favorites. And that’s saying a lot because I’ve loved all the girls’ parties.

The food cards on wood slices, the cupcake toppers, the cake topper, and the high chair balloon were all DIY projects and some of my favorite decorations. The cupcakes tasted amazing like always (shout out to our family friend Sharon who knocks it out of the park in the cake sept every. single. time!) and the added touch of Isla’s monthly pictures sprinkled throughout the decor was a really simple, but really sweet, addition. Check out her day, and all the details, in the photos below.

Happy Birthday beautiful Isla Girl. We love you.
